SUMMARY:Conversations for Practice & Growth: Navigating Hospital Care at EO
 L
DESCRIPTION:New Educational Series: Conversations for Practice &amp\; Growt
h\nJoin us for the first session in a new four-part educational series des
igned to support End-of-Life Doulas in strengthening their understanding o
 f the systems\, settings\, and relationships that shape end-of-life care.\
nPart 1: Navigating Hospital Care at End of Life\nHospitals are often a si
gnificant part of the end-of-life journey\, yet many doulas have limited o
pportunities to explore how hospital systems function and how care decisio
ns unfold within these settings. In this interactive session\, Connie Jors
vik\, will share insights into the realities of hospital-based end-of-life
care\, helping participants better understand the environment\, challenge
s\, and opportunities that patients\, families\, and care teams may encoun
ter.\nConnie is a healthcare pioneer\, author\, and founder of Patient Pa
thways\, with more than 40 years of experience spanning clinical nursing a
nd national leadership in end-of-life advocacy. Her work focuses on empowe
ring patients within complex healthcare systems\, and she brings a thought
ful\, balanced perspective to understanding how doulas can effectively sup
port individuals and families while maintaining the unique\, non-medical r
 ole of an End-of-Life Doula.\nThrough presentation\, reflection\, and smal
l-group discussion\, participants will explore how greater awareness of ho
spital care can support more informed\, compassionate\, and context-aware
doula practice. Whether you are new to end-of-life work or an experienced
practitioner\, this session offers an opportunity to deepen your understan
ding and connect with colleagues through meaningful conversation.
